Celebrating a century of independence, the democracy-seeking citizens in these states have all independently become lone brave fighters against the rivals of the late empire, who have also turned into shell-shocked survivors of the many wars, revolts and coups that bred global terror which looks like some uncanny World War 3 in the making.
In hindsight, a 600-year-old empire crumbled to pieces at the end of World War I, right when her political wisdom was taking bold democratic steps to form what would have been the 'United States of Ottomana'.
A century later, while her rivals have formed unions, her 'crumbled pieces' are independently battling countless wars, revolts, coups, and terror and are struggling to make it 'on their own'.
Ottomana is a project that aims to study these lands to put a face on this invisible population to help stop the bloodshed at the crossroads of the world.
