Slovenia has approved, with a majority vote in the parliament, a decision to recognize Palestine as an independent state, under the pre-1967 borders, with occupied East Jerusalem as its capital.. This way, it dismissed earlier calls by the opposition party for a referendum on the issue. This comes as support for Palestine appears to be growing in Europe where more states are adopting this move to pressure Israel to end the conflict in Gaza.

The civil disobedience group known as the 'Sudanese Resistance Committees' says, more than 100 people were killed in two attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, in a village in al-Jazirah state. The group says it's still waiting for the final number of dead and injured - including information on their identities. The Sudanese Resistance Committee has called the attack on Tuesday a massacre. It says the RSF fighters looted the village and that many women and children fled the area.

Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen are launching widespread attacks on ships linked to Israel in the Arabian and Red Seas and the Indian Ocean.
