Bilateral ties between Georgia and China reached new heights in July when Beijing and Tbilisi signed a strategic-partnership agreement that offered global initiatives and promised preferential bank loans for large-scale infrastructure projects. That agreement though enforces a strict policy of isolation toward Taiwan, leading Tbilisi to refuse to recognize Taiwanese passports, making it the only government in the world to refuse entry to the island’s citizens.
