A gifted teenage pianist and composer, Ahmed Al Hashemi (14), was honored at a UN-backed international festival to receive a diploma recognizing his prodigious talent at the Cinema Heritage International Film Heritage in Paris, held from November 4 to 8 and supported by Unesco. Ahmed, whose parents were told he had autism when he was 20 months old, has mastered pieces by Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach and composes his own music.
