Hezbollah says it has fired 100 rockets towards northern Israel. The assault is part of around ten operations on Wednesday, targeting Israeli military sites. That action follows an Israeli strike on the Haouch area, in the Lebanese city of Tyre, which killed a senior Hezbollah commander. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant says that the military is ready to take whatever action is required in Lebanon - including fighting on the ground.

Saudi court revokes capital punishment on the Indian national on death row at Al-Malaz Prison in Riyadh. Abdul Rahim, an Indian native hired in 2006 as a house driver in Riyadh, had been involved in an accident that led to the killing of the disabled son of the family he was serving. The death sentence came in 2018 under the Saudi law for murder, after the boy’s family refused to grant amnesty. The appeal court upheld this verdict in 2022, and over the years, India at large got involved in several fundraising occasions to save Abdul Rahim, raising a staggering sum of ₹34 crores. The situation is also viral online with a mobile app that campaigns for his release.
