Almost a century after Stalin’s great Reign of Terror in Georgia, mass graves are unearthed and bodies are exhumed. With the instruments of Forensic Anthropology today, the skeletons dug up are discovered as the victims of the 1930s Soviet political campaign that was organized by the secret police, the NKDV, to eliminate party officials, army officers, wealthy peasants, and anyone deemed “an enemy of the state”, claiming the lives of over 700,000 people across the Soviet Union.
