Somali pirates are back in action, with the hijacking of the Bangladesh-flagged 'mv Abdullah' vessel carrying coal from Mozambique to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Twenty armed men hijacked the vessel on March 12th as it was sailing more than 1,000km east of Somalia. Its crew of twenty-three is still being held hostage.
