Turkiye celebrates a significant milestone in becoming a spacefaring nation with its first-ever space traveler, Colonel Alper Gezeravci. The decorated F-16 fighter pilot became Turkey's first astronaut when he, along with his crewmates from America, Italy, and Sweden, were launched into space from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. They are currently docked at the International Space Station, where Gezeravci will conduct a series of experiments on human physiology and industrial advancements.
