Russia's attack on Ukraine's southern city of Mykolaiv killed one person and injured at least 16. A motion introduced by the Foreign Relations Committee of the Swiss National Council is calling on the Federal Council to organize an international peace forum on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The aim is to facilitate an open dialogue between Azerbaijan and representatives of the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians, conducted under international supervision or in the presence of internationally relevant actors, to negotiate the safe and collective return of the historically resident Armenian population.

Sudan’s conflict has entered its second year, with General Abdel Fatah Al Burhan’s forces launching a counter-offensive against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The army has made advances, seizing two bridges across the Nile and the strategic Jebel Moya mountain, cutting off RSF access to the Blue Nile region. However, the RSF controls much of Kordofan and Darfur, besieging Al-Fasher. While Burhan’s gains are notable, sustaining momentum remains uncertain as both sides engage in intense fighting, with negotiations currently stalled.

The State of Qatar participated in the ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Council (EU) in Brussels. The summit was chaired by Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The EU partnership with Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates would seek to boost cooperation in clean tech, critical minerals needed in the green transition, renewable energy, and hydrogen production.
