Around 40,000 Palestinians offered Eid al-Adha prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem on Sunday, but there was no festive atmosphere, instead mourning the victims of Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip for over eight months now.
Muslims around the world are celebrating Eid al-Adha. But in Gaza, festivities are muted, with many facing the brink of famine and families having been torn apart. Worshippers are gathering in the ruins of destroyed mosques to hold prayers.

Muslims in Crimea observe Eid Al Adha, or the feast of sacrifice, which commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, before God offered a sheep in his place. Crimean Muslims have their custom style of honoring Eid Al Adha, practicing many rituals as well as cultural customs. Arif kunyu (Arafa Day) is observed on the eve of Eid al-Adha. In the evening of this day, it is customary for Crimean Tatars to fry dough dishes. This custom is called "qoqu ciqarmaq".

For the first time in 32 years, residents of the city of Shusha celebrated the holiday of Eid al-Adha in their homeland. Under President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, Azerbaijan initiated another phase of relocating residents to Shusha, resettling 21 families (85 people). With this latest relocation, the total number of families resettled in the city reached 126, comprising 491 individuals. Also a distribution of sacrificial animal meat took place in the courtyard of a new residential complex.
