Ukraine has accused North Korea of not only supplying weapons but also sending soldiers to assist Russia in its war. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky urged allies to adapt their strategy in response to Russia’s strengthening alliances. Zelensky's appeals to allies for permission to use longer-range missiles against Russia’s military infrastructure have so far been unsuccessful. South Korea's Defence Minister said reports of a Ukrainian strike killing North Korean soldiers in Russian-controlled territory were likely true.

The six West Balkan states, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania, and North Macedonia, attended a summit in Berlin to sign agreements to bring them closer to EU membership. Montenegro is seen as the first promising country to be integrated into Europe, despite the process having begun more than 20 years ago. Whilst Montenegro expects to meet all the requirements before 2028, the whole process is estimated to be complete within the next 10 years.

AFRICA
The Nigeria men's football team endured a sleepless night in Libya, declaring it being "held hostage" when they were stranded at the wrong airport for more than 16 hours in Libya with reportedly no food or water, ahead of their 2025 AFCON qualifier. As a result of the chaos, the players headed home and decided not to play the game. Nigeria has threatened to boycott the AFC Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya. Despite Libya claiming the decision was unintentional, fingers are pointing at Libya giving Nigeria a taste of its own medicine since Nigeria has a history of mistreating visiting squads.
