Jordan's opposition party IAF has secured a majority in the recently concluded parliamentary elections. The Islamic Action Front (IAF) made strong gains in Jordan’s parliamentary elections, securing 31 of the 138 seats. Three of the IAF winners, however, are not formal party members. 10 party lists won seats in the general electoral district, with the IAF claiming the most, securing 17 out of the 41 seats allocated for political parties.

On September 11, Ukraine hosted the Fourth Summit of the Crimea Platform in Kyiv. This year, the summit brought together more than 60 representatives of different countries and international organizations to discuss the problems in occupied Crimea and accelerate the de-occupation of the peninsula. The leader of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Abdülcemil Kırımoğlu expressed gratitude to all the countries and people who are providing Ukraine with important comprehensive assistance and expressed his concerns about the state of affairs in Crimea.

A suspected Russian missile struck a Turkish-operated cargo ship delivering Ukranian grain to Egypt in Romania's economic zone about 55 km from the Romanian port of Sfantu Gheorghe in the Danube Delta of NATO-member Romania which may make NATO consider this an attack on its territory. The incident was reported on social media by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who wrote that there were no casualties in the incident, while photographs supplied by his office show significant damage to parts of the vessel.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar have signed a cooperation agreement to exchange personal data and information for security purposes. Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force in Qatar, hosted Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud at the Qatari Ministry of Interior in Doha at an official meeting where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has also been signed between the ministries of Interior in the two countries for cooperation in the field of scientific, training and research activities.
