Over the past several months Turkiye has been stepping up its crackdown against drug traffickers, with the Turkish narcotics bureau regularly seizing record amounts at border crossings. The situation has drug traffickers opting for a quick alternate route over Türkiye, assuming it would make for an easy entry point for drugs headed for Europe. However, the country's decades-long fight against PKK's narcoterror has made Turkish security extremely efficient in busting drug trafficking. Last month, Turkish authorities seized the third-largest amount (608 kg) of cocaine in the country's history, along with record amounts of heroin (850 kg) at a customs gate on the border with Iraq.

A new high-speed train line connecting Hungary and Serbia is nearing completion to improve the quality of life for people across the two countries. Hungary was the first European country to sign a Belt and Road Initiative cooperation agreement with China in 2015. Since then, the Hungary-Serbia high-speed railway, also known as the Budapest-Belgrade railway, has been recognized as a flagship project of the partnership. The length of the double-track electrified railway is 341.7 kilometers.

Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels have claimed attacks on two ships, the MSC Diego and the MSC Gina in the Gulf of Aden and one in the Indian Ocean with ballistic missiles and drones. The Yemeni Houthi group also announced having targeted 112 Israeli, US, and UK ships since the beginning of solidarity operations for the Gaza Strip in November.

The Crew says they are not related to the Israel-Hamas conflict in anyway and should be released as soon as possible. However, Houthis say their release depends on the end of Israeli operations in Gaza Strip.
